Get ready for a great experience!!!
Please prepare for your day at the airfield by reading the following safety information
- Flying Sailplanes is a very safe and enjoyable experience - and MGSA ensures that Discovery Rides are provided only by FAA certified Commercial pilots in modern glass sailplanes.
- For your safety - people, pets and vehicles need to stay a good distance off the runways at all times. Monroe is an active airport that is visited by a wide variety of aircraft
- Always keep a good look out for moving aircraft, and keep all children and pets under direct supervision. Airfields can be dangerous places for the unwary.
- Please remain well clear of the tow plane anytime the engine is running, whether or not it is moving.
- Please do not approach or stand on the runway until instructed to do so.
- To protect both you and our FAA certified Commercial pilots - while in the air, please listen carefully and follow the commands and instructions of the pilot.
- In the discretion of the ride pilot, cameras may be allowed but must either be on a strap around your neck, remain in your hands, or be stowed in one of the side pouches in the cockpit.
- Under no circumstances should a camera be placed in your lap or between your legs as it may slip away and jam the flight controls.
- Please stow all cell phones in your personal pockets or one of the side pouches in the cockpit. Again, under no circumstances should a cell phone be placed in your lap or between your legs.
- Would you like to fly the plane for a brief spell? Feel free to ask the ride pilot if you can get some stick time!
- Avoid walking under the wings of parked gliders. Assume someone is going to lift the opposite wing while you are walking under it.
- Get ready for a great experience!!!
Please review the safety rules and read the Discovery Flight Waiver before arriving at the airport. Bring the waiver with you on the day of your flight.
